Professor Choon Fong Shih provides strategic leadership in clean energy, research, innovation, and development as a Senior Executive Advisor at Clean Hydrogen Works (CHW). He brings over 50 years of experience in academia and industry, having held influential leadership positions, including Founding President of King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) and President of National University of Singapore (NUS).
Spending over 30 years in North America, Professor Shih has also been deeply involved in transformative energy projects in China and the U.S. He has served on advisory committees at Stanford, MIT, the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech). His advisory work includes contributions to Liquid Sunshine projects, such as an e-fuel hydrogen station deployed at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, utilizing methanol as a hydrogen carrier.
Professor Shih holds an M.S. and Ph.D. from Harvard University and is internationally recognized as a leader in engineering. He has received numerous prestigious awards, including the Harvard GSAS Centennial Medal for his contributions to research and higher education leadership.
